It is time for all the citizens of Killeen to support our city animal shelter.
Recently in the news many valid problems have been identified to include not caring for sick and injured animals. Lack of solid internal procedures have led to some of the problems. Killleen Animal Shelter staff, the Killeen Police Department and Assisi are working together to bring about a change.
We have a new interim animal control supervisor, Roy Johnson, who needs our support. City staff is listening up as are our elected officials. The tow council members on the Animal Advisory Board, Mr. Larry Cole and Mr. Juan Rivera are behind all the improvement effort; they will champion the shelter's cause to help increase adoption rates, make lives better for the animals who have the misfortunate to lose their owners.
It is time that the citizens get behind this effort and help support the shelter. The animals and the taxpayers of Killeen deserve a well run shelter.
